Two little ladies...

Ashlyn got to see cousin Mya again for a short visit while we were in Appleton on Saturday. They seemed very interested in each other and were all smiles until both of them went for each others faces in an attempt to poke each other's eyes out! Then we decided a little separatation was probably best...

The Basement is Done...Mostly!

Here are a couple pics of our basement that we just finished. We still have a few things to do like get a TV, hook up the surround sound, and finish the fire place. We are going to put tile or slate of some sort around the fireplace but are waiting a few months to finish that off when we decide for sure on the design we want to do. It is really nice to have things done down there and to have the extra living space...we're excited the project is finally near completion and are happy with the way everything turned out as well, which is a big plus!!! Now we get to look forward to landscaping outside once spring and summer comes....the fun never ends!

I can sit now...

Ashlyn has found her balance! She sits up by herself now for quite a long time and enjoys being upright and looking around. Despite how happy she was this morning we are just getting over a flu bug. Ashlyn got sick at daycare late Thursday afternoon and was quite sick that night. I felt so bad for her :( I think she passed it on to both mom and dad, and even Shotzy got sick Saturday! Needless to say, we had sort of a rough weekend....but hopefully we are all getting over it and can stay healthy for a while now.

6 Months Old

Ashlyn is 6 months old today and had to go to the doctor for some more shots. She did the best she ever has with them and was even quite happy tonight. She is 16 lbs 10oz (75th percentile) and 27 inches long (90th percentile). So she still has the tall height thing going on which we can't figure out :) Ashlyn has been rolling over now pretty consistently, so now we are practicing sitting! She also enjoys grabbing everything in sight and reaches for anything and everything, as you can tell from the picture above. She wanted the camera!! She also is taking after daddy and thinks she needs the remote control basically all of the time :)

Visitors over the Weekend!

Kayla and Mya came to visit Ashlyn and I this past weekend while our husbands were out icefishing. Kayla helped me paint the basement so that was great and Ashlyn and Mya got to just hang out and play!!! They are so cute...

Our Project

Well, Damien has been hard at work for months finishing our basement. We were lucky to have some really nice friends that helped us out during various phases of the project! We are heading into the home stretch and things are starting to come together. We hope to be finished with mostly everything by the first week of February. I thought I'd post a few pics of the progress so far. Will post pics of the final project hopefully in a few weeks...

A little froggie??

I sat Ashlyn on the floor last night and she stayed upright for a couple seconds! She looked like a little frog the way she leaned forward on her arms. She is not quite strong enough yet, but will be sitting on her own in no time I'm sure.
