Grumpy???

So Grandma Jeannie wanted a picture of Ashlyn at her house over the weekend and so I "propped" her up against some pillows on the couch. Well...the position I had her in made her have the cutiest little grumpy face. She wasn't mad or anything but just looked like it!

Busy Weekend

Great-Grandma Doris' 80th Birthday 4 Generations - me, Great-Grandma Gladys, Ashlyn & Grandma Jeannie Great-Grandma Dukie with Ashlyn at Uncle Darrin & Aunt Stacy's on Sunday

We attended Ashlyn's great-grandma Braun's 80th birthday party over the weekend where the majority of the Brauns were there and got to meet Ashlyn. The party was really nice and everyone seemed like they had a good time. Ashlyn also got to attend her 1st Loyal Corn Festival and parade. All of the noise and comotion didn't seem to bother her as she slept through basically the whole thing!

1st Well Baby Checkup

Ashlyn had her first well baby checkup (2 weeks old) yesterday. The Dr. said that everything looked good and she seemed like a perfect baby! They like them to gain back the weight they have lost after they are born by this time and Ashlyn did that and more. She was up to 8 lbs 1 oz (she likes to eat like her dad!!). She was also an inch longer so she is growing like a weed already. We're going to try to take a trip out today and visit mom's work; so hopefully Ashlyn will be on her best behavior :)

1 Week Old

Ashlyn is 1 week old and we actually got a couple pictures of her with her eyes open! She likes to close them just before you take the picture. But we even got one Sunday posing with Daddy with open eyes.

Visitors

Ashlyn had a few vistors come to see her this week. Grandma Jeannie and Grandpa Mick came to visit again and of course Aunt Stacy had to come meet Ashlyn for the first time. Grandma Deb, Grandma Karen, and Great-Grandma Irene also stopped by for a visit. It was nice to see them all!

Our new arrival!

Ashlyn decided to arrive 10 days early on August 3rd...which mommy didn't mind! On Saturday I started having contractions in the afternoon, but they didn't get too intense until real late that night. At 1 am Sunday morning we decided to head to the hospital. Ashlyn arrived at 10:11 am Sunday morning and was 7 lbs 9 oz and 20 1/2" long. Everything went good and we got home Tuesday morning. Shotzy got to check out her new baby sister. She sniffed her a lot but doesn't seem to mind she is here. Our first night home went pretty well, but we didn't get too much sleep! We're surviving just fine though and we're glad she is finally here!!!
