8 Weeks Old

Play Time!

Ashlyn is getting so strong - it's amazing. She can hold her head up longer and longer every day. She was enjoying some tummy time today. The last 2 weeks she has really started to have fun playing in her bouncy seat as well. She really gets her arms and legs going and lets out a few good squeals too! It's so cute watching her get so excited...I tried to download a video on here but it didn't work so the picture below will have to do.

Wedding Reception

We held our wedding reception this last weekend and were so glad that so many of our friends and family could be there to celebrate with us. We are grateful for everyone's thoughts and caring words for our new family!! Ashlyn of course looked adorable in her little pink dress (even when she was sleeping)! She is such an angel :)

6 Weeks Old!

Ashlyn is 6 weeks old today! It's amazing how much she has grown already. According to our estimates tonight at home she is approximately 11 lbs now. She has gotten her days and nights figured out for sure now, but we're still getting up to eat at least 3 times a night. But for the most part we're able to get her to go right back to sleep after eating. There are a few nights where that isn't the case but hopefully that will keep getting better with time!!

Some Smiles...

Ashlyn has been putting on a few "smiling shows" lately! We haven't been able to get a really good picture of her smiling yet but this is what we've captured so far. We'll keep trying!

Baby Burrito

We haven't been swaddling Ashlyn for a few weeks but decided to try to swaddle her last night before bed in an attempt to try to extend the time she sleeps between feedings. Well, it actually maybe worked since she slept from about 9:30 pm - 1 am! This is a long stretch for us :)

New Cousins....

Mya and Ashlyn got to meet each other up north in Phillips over Labor Day weekend. Mya looks like a little peanut next to Ashlyn. It's funny the difference 2 weeks makes. Mya is only 2 weeks younger than her older cousin! The 2 learned to like each other pretty easily. They even interlocked arms on their own to show they are best buds!

Busy Weekend

We attended Uncle Derrick and Aunt Jen's wedding in Marshfield this past Saturday. It was a very nice wedding and we enjoyed seeing all of the relatives. The bride even found some time to hold Ashlyn on her big day! All of the nephews got to meet their new cousin and Grandpa Dave (who loves girl babies :)) stole her for a bit too. Ashlyn did really well and basically slept through the entire event!
