17 months old!
Well, Ashlyn is 17 months old now and this past month was an exciting one for her. With Christmas and all of our visits with family and friends it was a nice and busy month. Now we get to settle into winter and wait for spring to arrive! Is it too early to be thinking of spring :) One big accomplishment we had last month was ditching the pacifier for good!!! She has only had it for nap time and at night for bed for several months now, but we were down to 1 pacifier (the rest were MIA somehow) that we were taking back and forth to daycare for naps and forgetting half the time. So she wasn't getting one for some naps during the week so one Friday night we decided to give it a go and took it away for good cold turkey. Surprisingly she did really well! She cries a little when she goes to bed now sometimes, but that has been getting better and sometimes we don't hear a peep out of her! Now the only struggle is those darn eye teeth that we believe are coming in and the cold she has picked up! 'Tis the season for that I guess!

Christmas at home!
After our travels to Phillips and Colby celebrating Christmas 4 different times, we made it back home and got to celebrate Christmas yet again with just our little family. Ashlyn enjoyed opening more presents and playing with the wrapping paper. She got a kitchen set from Santa that we finally got all set up last night. She also checked out her new Dora "play hut" but wouldn't go inside it. She even had mommy inside the hut trying to coax her to come in and check it out, but she stayed outside and just shook her head "no"! Boy was that a site...

December 2009 - 16 Months Old - Already???
Our baby is 16 months old already! She has officially realized walking gets her places faster than crawling and is having fun walking from room to room in the house showing us everything she wants to explore. She has figured out how to communicate in her own little way these days and will grab our hand and lead us to her highchair when she wants to eat and will lead us to her bedroom at night when she is gets tired and wants to go to bed. We put her in bed and generally that's the last we hear of her....hopefully that continues!!! Ashlyn was moved up to the Toddler room at Daycare this last month and is enjoying the new activities they do. She is learning to wash her hands and follow simple directions...it's amazing how much she really knows and understands!
